Matthew Roland Bannister.

Hello! My name is Matthew and I am a twenty-nothing designer from Sydney, Australia. I work at eskimo, drink strong lattes, and draw when time permits. Maybe you’d like to look at my work, get in touch, or read a book.

A4 Paper Festival.

I was one of twelve contributing artists that took part in the A4 Paper Festival, a Sydney based event that sought to celebrate all things paper. My piece, Take Me To A Higher Plane, was a series of suspended, hand-cut planes, evoking notions of freedom and escape.

Ship/shape.

As part of The Design Kids' Terrible Twos Birthday Exhibition, I collaborated on a piece with Lulu Ruttley and Daniel Dittmar. Our piece, Ship/shape, offered Lulu & Dittmar's wise words of advice, with ten of my illustrations laser-etched to match.

Matthew Roland & Friends.

In June 2011, I designed, organised, and ran a small pop-up shop and studio, Matthew Roland & Friends, in one of Gaffa Gallery's arcade spaces. Alongside Bianca Chang, I ran two papercraft workshops, and the event was blogged about by Australian INfront & The Design Files.

The Repository.

A concepted series of eight illustrated logomarks for The Repository, a boutique brand agency. The marks are rubber-stamped, either alone or with each other, on all printed-matter and collateral, creating a fluid identity with a strong aesthetic & brand-image.

The Matthew Roland Blog.

From 2009 to 2012, I kept a small blog, documenting my work, my ideas, and my day to day life. Throughout this time, I was featured on other blogs such as The Design Files & The Finders Keepers.
